Kolkata Fashion Week

Some of the worlds most beautiful fashion icons emerged in the 1960s, one of which was Audrey Hepburn. Her most iconic looks have inspired designer Leena Taneja for her SS’10 collection showcased yesterday at KFW. The audience couldn’t resist applauding when the show incepted with lovely music from ‘My Fair Lady’ unveiling beautiful elegant tunics and embellished dresses in acrylics, knitted cottons, metallic foilings of silver, copper and gold; all accompanied with various cloche hats and stilettos perfectly working to mimic Miss Hepburns iconic look.

Riding the 2nd Wave of Foreclosures

Driving South on Interstate 75 in Marietta, GA everyone on their way to work looks up to see the big realty company sign that tells how many listings are on the market, waiting to be sold.  The numbers have finally made it back in the 70,000 range which is what we used to call “normal” when referring to the then thriving Georgia Market.  We may be tempted to give a sigh of relief that things are finally returning to “normal,” but the numbers portray a false security.

What’s the difference between the two Hoover Dam tours?

I see that there’s a self-guided Powerplant Tour and a guided Hoover Dam Tour. The self-guided one is $11 and the guided one is $25. What’s the difference? Do I not get to see some of the dam if I tour on my own?

I want to plant water lilies in my dam, but need to protect from yabbies. How can I do this?

Yabbies are like a kind of small crayfish that are native to Australia. They can apparently be very destructive & dig up plants, eat leaves/flowers, etc of water lilies. There are lots in our dam & eradication isn’t an option. So I need to come up with some kind of protection. The only idea we’ve had so far was to buy some thin wire or mesh, with holes small enough to let water through but not yabbies. Then to make that like a kind of giant bowl and put it into the dam… and plant the water lilies in big buckets (with small holes drilled to let water through) inside the wire bowl. The wire would need to protrude above the water level at least a bit, so as to stop the yabbies just swimming over it. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

What are the environmental effects if an earthquake destroys a dam?

If there are two dams, one (Ryan dam) further downhill and the other (Rainbow dam) upstream from the first, what would the environmental effects be on the channel between the two dams? Furthermore, what would happen to a third dam (Morony dam) that is downhill from Ryan Dam?
